this is the steel frame inside the formwork. You can see the rammed earth that it sits on. More formwork is added and more earth is rammed in all around it. Just wait till you see the finished wall! T1T2
Today’s rammed earth (RE) consists of sand, clay, water and a stabilizer, often cement but sometimes lime though there are others. The stabilizer usually accounts for 3-10% of the total. The ancient builders used clay as the stabilizer instead of cement. The material is “rammed” or compacted in temporary forms.
I was actually thinking of doing this, but with rammed earth it might be harder because the mixture isn't very liquidy, it might work, but I'd have to make the stencil soon.
So it rammed earth cement or dirt?

If you put a "stencil" inside your framework would it leave your "mark" when removed? This way the builder could "sign" his work>
