I like this one.
Tristan (T1T2)

While Terri was busy verbally assaulting me in public in front of Brit's Pub, I was busy thinking about all the cool Architectural photos people were going to find on my sister site, t1photos.
Tristan (T1T2)

Congratulations to Rick and Karla who were the special occasion that brought us back to MPLS! Terri and I had such a wonderful time! It was good to see great friends and it was good to be back in a vibrant, hip, real city. No offense SLC, but you really need to get with the program.
Tristan (T1T2)

Here is John serenading his "Cup and Cone" icecream cone. Or maybe he's whispering sweet nothings to it. At any rate, what ever he's doing I'm sure it made his new fiance jealous. While Terri and I were in MPLS we helped out the newly engaged couple by taking some engagement photos for them. This one probably won't make it to the final cut. But I couldn't rob anyone of this one so it gets shown here.

Denalis headshot

Here's the first picture update from my new camera! Of course it's going to be one of Denali. She's doing better, almost back to her normal self. She only has a hard time balancing on two legs or when she tries to do the 'kangaroo'. She's still taking medication. Terri and I will be in MPLS Thursday thru Sunday. If you want to hang out Friday night give us a call. Posted by Picasa

Tonight was my birthday party at the ball park. It was a good time with great friends! And the home team won. There'll be plenty more photos from our night so check back later.

Denali update. As you can see, she's still up for doing the "kangaroo", but what you don't see is the slow teetering and swaying. The vet said that she's getting better, but still is on her medication for another week or so. Her personality is coming back, but she's still not 100%. The vet seems to think that her illness is more neurological than inner ear, but we don't really know what that means. We're just happy that she's getting better. Keep sending those good vibes.

My hot husband starts his birthday week today by oiling our patio set.yipee!
Tristan (T1T2)

Our ugly 10 year old red stain job deck. We've been dying to stain this since we moved in. It was badly in need of it. And now that I finally got the stairs done it made sense to do it.
Tristan (T1T2)

Here's the after, with newly stained deck (in Cocoa). As well as a freshly oiled table and chairs, and new bamboo roll-up screens.
Tristan (T1T2)

Here is the deck after all the hard work we've put into it this weekend. You can also see our nice new patio set compliments of Craig'slist.

Denali Update

A Day in the Life of 2 Ts
Denali still isn't doing that much better, which the vet says isn't that good of a sign. Please keep thinking of her and us, we need all the good vibes we can get.

This one is for my brother. Remember how many of these little icecream baseball hats we had? Weinerschnitzel is selling them again. Sweet. We're going to collect all 30 that they have. that's a lot of icecream sundaes, but I think we can do it.

Denali

For those of you who we haven't talked to this weekend, we thought we would give you an update. Our poor Denali is quite sick. After a 2:00 a.m. visit to the animal E.R., an emergency visit to her eye doctor, lots of internet research, and $600 we found out the Denali has a vestibular infection. We're not yet sure if the infection is just in her inner-ear or has reached her brain. She is very disoriented and is having a hard time walking and keeping balance. Basically it has impacted all of her motor skills, including her ability to blink. Sometime between the 2:00 a.m. ER visit and the time we woke up on Saturday morning, Denali also developed an ulcer on her eye because she doesn't have the ability to blink.

She is on six prescriptions (two oral antibiotics, one eye antibiotic, prednisone, anti-vertigo, eye lubricant) and is starting to do a little better. Best case scenario the infection is only in her inner-ear and she should be better in two weeks. Or, if the infection has reached her brain it could take months of medication to penetrate the infection.

Please keep our poor puppy in your thoughts. She still has her usual wonderful personality and is trying to be very happy!

This is the view from the "yard" (if you consider 20 some acres a yard) of the BnB. If you don't know your mountains, those are the Grand Tetons. They have snow on them year round. I want to live where there is snow year round.
Tristan (T1T2)

This little fella, along with a whole bunch of his friends hummed all around the cabin. They are amazing animals. I'm not sure why all birds don't fly this way. If I were a bird and all the eagle spots were taken, I'd be a hummingbird. We liked them so much, if anyone is in need of gift ideas for us for Christmas or anything you can get us a hummingbird. Or if you find those hard to come by, a hummingbird feeder and supply of hummingbirds. Maybe they sell those like ant farms, where you get the farm and the ants come later.

This is the Bed and Breakfast that we stayed at in Driggs, ID. http://www.inntetonia.com/It was a wonderful place. We can't recommend it enough. Everything was so perfect and wonderful. Thank you bridesmaids for making this possible with the wonderful gift you gave us a year ago.

Here's Terri (with Jeffery) and me (with Champ) on our horseback ride around Grand Targhee. Those are the majestic Tetons in the background. Not a bad place to spend part of our first anniversary vacation. Terri did very well for her first time on a horse that wasn't a pony at the circus. The only problem was that her horse was one hungry beast. And being the softy that she is, Jeff took advantage of Terri's kindness to grab a bite to eat whenever he felt like it, refusing to giddy-up-and-go when Terri wanted him to. My stallion, on the other hand, totally lived up to his name and would giddy-up-and-go with the slightest tap of my spurs (a.k.a trail shoes.) I only got to use this unique feature of my horse a few times. We were supposed to stay in line and not pass, so I didn't want to go racing past our guide. That'd be bad horse etiquete. The only thing I couldn't really get Champ to do was stop. It's not easy taking pictures on a moving horse and anytime I tried to stop he would wait about 5 seconds and then get antsy and want to catch up. I have to say that this horse ride was way better than my only other horse riding experience at the Diamond T ranch in Eagan.

This is my wonderful new 1st anniversary gift. It's a super flash TaylorMade R580 XD driver. Sweet.

In case you've forgotten about T1photos, I have made some post there recently. And there will probably be more there now that I'm more or less finished posting to the DesignBuildBluff blog. Check often and check frequently.

We finally got a hook to hang our really cool solar powered bird feeder. There are little lights that glow at night so it looks like a lantern.
Tristan (T1T2)

The horrible deck/steps. We tore these ugly white things out last week and began building a new extension of the deck this week. I nearly finished it today, but have a few more pieces to build.
Tristan (T1T2)

The mid-way deck/steps.
Tristan (T1T2)

The half-way point. Combining the new and exisiting deck together. Terri in mid stride mowing the lawn with our vintage push mower. Denali is quickly learning the new steps. I think she likes it a lot better than the old white mess of steps that was very confusing for her. She went to the vet and eye vet yesterday. the Vet said that she needs another dog companion. What does everyone think? Should we get her a seeing eye dog?

Here is the latest project on our own house. We tore out the old ugly steps that were here and are going to extend the porch steps across.

I went back down to Bluff this last weekend to finish up some small details on the house. Most of the students were able to make it down. The house is now liveable except Caroline is still waiting for electricity, but as soon as she has that she'll also be able to run the pump that is hooked up to the cistern and she'll have running water.

I realize that it's been a while since our last update. Nothing too exciting has been happening. Working, some house work, helping friends move, watched a lot of the World Cup. We did start working out together at the gym. That's been really good. I've stopped eating boxes of Twinkies. Last weekend we went to the gym and then went on a hike in the area you see in the image. It was all the way up the road in the canyon that we got married. We were around the Big Water and Little Water Creek. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing, so sorry there aren't any real photos. It was quite nice however.

Terri and I went up to our friends' parent's house up above the Capitol to see all the city's fireworks display. You can see four seperate shows in this photo.
Tristan (T1T2)

The fireworks in the middle are at the baseball staduim, half a block from our house. You can also see some in the distance on the right.

Happy 4th.

We went that way.
Tristan (T1T2)

We did move to Utah for more than just school and working on our house. Today we finally got out and went on a hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Terri and I finally finished work in the backyard installing this waterfall.

Happy Father's Day

And a very happy Father's Day to my dad, and all the other fathers out there.
Tristan (T1T2)

Here it is! The back yard woodchiped and ready for some plants. That might not happen for a while, Terri and I pretty sick of working on the yard. But eventually we'll have some native drought tolerant plants in the wood area. Some nice tall grasses and ground cover and flowering plants. It'll be sick. The sod is taking hold as well and looks like it's almost established. It's just about ready for some badminton and bocceball.
Tristan (T1T2)

Denali sure has something against toys that squeek. She did not let this out of her "sight" (or smell) for the entire day.
Tristan (T1T2)

Here we have the famous Denali bringing her second favorite toy of the day. Her most favorite is currently the new toy Terri bought her today.
